Finite source Markovian inventory system with bonus service for certain customers

چکیده
Abstract: We consider a perishable inventory system with bonus service for certain customers, wherein the demand of a customer is satisfied only after performing some service on the item which is assumed to be of random duration. The maximum inventory level is S . The ordering policy is (0,S ) policy and the lead time is zero. The life time of each items is assumed to be exponential. The customers arrive according a quasi-random distribution. Arriving customers form a single waiting line based on the order of their arrivals. The first R ≥ 1 customers who arrive after the system becomes empty must wait for service to begin. We have assumed that these R customers received an additional service, called bonus service, in addition to the essential service rendered to all customers. The service times are exponentially distributed. The joint probability distribution of the number of customers in the waiting hall and the inventory level is obtained for the steady state case. Some important system performance measures and the long-run total expected cost rate are derived in the steady state.

ANALYSIS OF FINITE BUFFER RENEWAL INPUT QUEUE WITH BALKING AND MARKOVIAN SERVICE PROCESS
This paper presents the analysis of a renewal input finite buffer queue wherein the customers can decide either to join the queue with a probability or balk. The service process is Markovian service process ($MSP$) governed by an underlying $m$-state Markov chain. Employing the supplementary variable and imbedded Markov chain techniques, the steady-state system length distributions at pre...

This article presents a perishable (s; S) inventory system under continuous review at a service facility in which a waiting hall for customers is of nite size M. The arrival instants of customers to the service station constitutes a Poisson process. The life time of each items is assumed to be exponential. All arriving customers demand the rst "essential" service, whereas only some of them dema...
متن کاملTwo-Heterogeneous Server Markovian Queueing Model with Discouraged Arrivals, Reneging and Retention of Reneged Customers
Customer impatience (reneging) has negative impact on the performance of queueing systems. If we talk from business point of view, firms lose their potential customers due to customer impatience which affects their business as a whole. It is envisaged that if the firms employ certain customer retention strategies then there are chances that a certain fraction of impatient customers can be ret...

We study an (s, S) production–inventory system with an attached Markovian service queue. A production facility gradually replenishes items in the inventory based on the (s, S) scheme, and the production process is assumed to be a Poisson process. In addition to the production–inventory system, c servers process customers that arrive in the system according to the Poisson process. The service ti...
